The box is not the thing that has to fit

Roll-off delivery works by backing the truck into the space, tilting the container off the back and driving forward out from under it. Pickup is the same thing reversed, with a cable pulling the box up the rails. That means the truck occupies space behind wherever the container ends up, and it needs to drive out of that space afterwards.

Work the default through. A 22 foot container with 25 feet behind it for the truck is 47 feet before anything else, and adding 8 feet for the rear door to open makes 55. Against a 46 foot driveway that is nine feet short, and the container itself was never the problem: it used less than half the length required. This is the single most common delivery day failure and it is entirely predictable with a tape measure.

The figures for how much room the truck needs and how much height the hoist arm sweeps through are the hauler's, not this page's. They vary by truck, by container size and by how the driver approaches. Ask for both when you book, and ask what their smallest truck needs if the space is tight.

Overhead is measured along the whole path, not over the spot

The arm goes up well before the box comes down. A branch, a service drop, a carport edge or a low garage header anywhere along the approach is as much of a stop as one directly over the parking position. Walk the path the truck will take and measure the lowest thing on it. An overhead electrical service drop in particular is not something to work around by inches; it belongs to the utility and it is their call.

Four and a half tons is a lot of weight for a residential driveway and almost none of it is spread out. It sits on two narrow rails, which is why the pressure figure is worth having even though this page will not tell you whether it is acceptable. What it is acceptable on depends on the slab or the asphalt, on what is underneath, on the season, and on whether anything is spanned beneath it. That is a question for somebody who can look at your driveway. The one thing worth saying generally is that the empty weight of the container is often a third of the total and it is the part people leave out entirely.

The carry is the hidden cost of a good placement

Moving eight cubic yards of debris in a six cubic foot barrow is 36 loads. At 60 feet each way that is 4,320 feet of walking, most of it loaded. Every ten feet further from the work adds 720 feet on this job, which is why a container fifteen feet closer to the door is worth arguing for even if it means a tighter placement. Measure the length from the street to whatever stops you, then compare it against the container length plus whatever room the hauler says their truck needs behind it, which is usually somewhere around the length of the box again. A 22 foot container needing 25 feet behind it wants 47 feet of driveway, and a 46 foot driveway does not have it even though the box itself would sit there comfortably. Ask the hauler for the two figures rather than guessing.

How much overhead clearance does a roll-off truck need?

More than the truck is tall, because the hoist arm rises well above it while the container is coming off, and it is your hauler who tells you the figure for their truck. Whatever they say, measure the lowest obstruction along the entire approach and not just over the spot where the box will sit.
