BuildFigure works out how much material a job takes, and what size to use, before you drive to the store. Concrete for a slab, board feet for a build, wire gauge for a run, filament for a print. Every calculator shows its working, not just a final number, so you can see which assumption to change when your job does not match the default.

Where the numbers come from

Material densities, standard dimensions and rule-of-thumb factors are stated on each page along with the range they vary over. Where a figure depends on conditions we cannot see from here, such as aggregate moisture, ambient temperature or how a cable is run, the page says so instead of pretending to a precision it does not have. These are estimates for planning and ordering. They are not engineering design, and anything involving structure, gas or mains electricity belongs with a licensed trade.
