Going from a two-day turnaround to same-day takes six bed sets and eleven towel sets out of the inventory and saves $972 of stock at the prices in the form. Going the other way, to a service that collects twice a week and returns in five days, adds $1,225. That is the real price of a laundry arrangement, and it does not appear on the laundry invoice.
The busiest day, not the average one
The shelf figure comes from the peak, because the average day never happens. Drop the busiest-day share from 40 percent to 15 and the par falls from 22 bed sets to 17 without anything else changing, which is what a genuinely spread-out week is worth. Very few short-let calendars are spread out. Most cluster on Friday and Sunday, and the cupboard has to survive the cluster.
